Telephone is a song by Lady Gaga, featuring Beyoncé, which is their second collaboration, the first being the remix of Video Phone. The song was originally written by Gaga and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, intended for Britney Spears' album Circus. It was released in 2009, on Gaga's reissued album The Fame Monster, and later released in as a single in 2010, with an accompanying music video.

While Gaga was a writer for Interscope, she originally wrote for Britney Spears as a single from Circus. However since Spears rejected the ordeal, recorded a demo version and it got illegally released on Apple Music. Gaga took it as her own song and got Beyoncé featured. The songs lyrics retold a fear of Gaga being bothered by contact the phone and not having recreational time for herself.
