February is already here as well as Black History Month! Fandom is celebrating the first Heritage Month celebration of this year, so make sure you check out the blog post on Community Central; and in order to celebrate it at the best Queen B's style, we're gonna go through all of the Black artists that have presence on Beyoncé's seventh studio album, RENAISSANCE, a letter to celebrate all the black entertainers out there.

History[]

Black History Month first started out as Negro History Week in February 1926. It eventually grew to be a month in 1970 as it was first celebrated that year at Kent State University. In 1975, President Gerald Ford urged Americans to recognize and honor the contributions made by black citizens. In the United States, Black History Month is also known as African-American History Month. Black History Month is also recognized and observed in Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. While the United States celebrates the observance in February, European countries celebrate during March and October.

Personal opinion[]

All of these artists that you've just seen not only have been present on this incredible album, but also they've expressed themselves through art showing what they can and are capable to do in all sorts of ways making history in their own UNIQUE style. So, sometimes we just have to consider that it's more than music, it's more than a way of expression or art, it's history and a protest at the same time.
